About MetroArts Inc. Kids Camp

Now in its 25th year, MetroArts Inc. Kids Camp gives 7-12 year old kids a chance to experience all the arts – music, dance, theater, and visual arts – for one or more weeks. More thank 3,400 happy campers have participated in the Kids Camp. Kids crank up their creativity through hands-on activities involving each art form and also enjoy live performances, video demonstrations, and classes taught by professional musicians, dancers, actors, and visual artists. Each week's activities culminate with the Friday Project.

MetroArts Inc. Kids Camp will once again be held at Northwest Academy, a private charter school focused on the arts, to use their facility. This has enabled us to expand our camp from two weeks to four weeks. We are anticipating reaching capacity all four weeks so pre-register now if to be sure to receive a spot!

What's a day at camp Like?

Campers will convene in a common area of Northwest Academy and will be introduced to the key creative words of the day. They also connect with each other by playing theater games. Then it's off to the first creative experience of the day in music, theater, dance or art! Throughout the week each camper invents a work in all of the art forms. Whether it's their own steps to a dance, a unique piece of visual art, a personal rendition of a theater "game", or a special rhythmic idea in music, every class offers each camper the chance for self-expression. And at the end of the day, the campers share their ideas and accomplishments with each other and the faculty.

MetroArts Inc. believes that every child should have an opportunity to enjoy Kids Camp. The only stipulation for meeting the requirements for a Kids Camp Scholarship is that you must qualify and show proof that you enrolled in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. If your family is receiving support in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, please complete the Scholarship Application Form located here and email a copy of the Free and Reduced Lunch Eligibility form to shannon@metroartsinc.org. Determination will be made by June 30, 2017.
