For 30 years, exceptional young classical musicians between the ages of 10 and 18 (up to 21 for singers) have participated in the Young Artists Debut! program. In 2025, in addition to showcasing exceptional classical ensembles, we are expanding this life-changing educational program to include artists from all artistic backgrounds. We also want talented visual artists (painters, ceramists, filmmakers, etc.), performing artists (dancers, singers, actors, etc.) and classical ensembles.

Young Artists Debut! Winners:

• Earn the honor of becoming a Young Artists Debut! Winner and an honorarium or stipend. (A maximum of twelve artists or groups are selected!)

• Are eligible to receive the Deveney Award. The winner will receive special recognition as well as a monetary prize or scholarship to further artistic endeavors.

• Grow as artists through educational mentoring sessions with YAD! judges and brainstorming sessions with other winning artists to create an exceptional immersive program.

• Participate in the Young Artists Debut! Concert & Showcase at The Reser on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

• Receive feedback on their application from YAD! judges.

• The opportunity to apply to earn volunteer hours or Intern with Cognizart.

• Gain priority access to Cognizart programs including 360 Arts Camp and The Arts Backstage.

 
There are three distinct paths to apply to be Young Artists Debut! :​

1. YAD! 31 for Ensembles - This will be as in previous years for classical instrumentalists ages 10-18 (up to 21 for singers) who will apply in ensembles of three or more. Click here for the YAD 31 Application.

2. YAD! for Visual Artists - This application is for visual artists ages 10-18 to showcase their creativity and talent. Qualified visual arts educators will review portfolios, provide feedback, and interview applicants. Applicants can be painters, ceramists, drawers, graphic artists, you name it! Share your talents. 3. YAD! for Performing Artists - This application will be for dancers, actors, singers, other non-classical musicians, and performers ages 10-18 to showcase their creativity and talent.
